Dr. Amir Mrad Plastic Surgery Consultant

Amir Mrad, MD, FRCSC, MBA, FACS

Dr. Mrad is a Consultant Plastic Surgeon. A graduate of the University of Toronto with three fellowships in Craniofacial and Cosmetic Facial Surgery. He is a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of Canada and the American College of Surgeons. Dr. Mrad is trained in all fields of plastic and cosmetic surgery with special interest in facial aesthetics.

University of Toronto

Dr. Mrad completed his training in plastic surgery at the University of Toronto, Canada, one of the largest plastic surgery programs in the world. With more than 10 teaching hospitals.

In 1958, the Division of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at the University of Toronto was established. Today, the Division of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery incorporates the activities of 42 surgeons across the Greater Toronto teaching hospitals, including the University Health Network (Toronto General, Toronto Western, and Princess Margaret Hospitals), Mount Sinai Hospital, the Hospital for Sick Children, St. Michael’s Hospital, Sunnybrook Health Sciences Center, Women’s College Hospital, St. Joseph’s Health Centre, Toronto East General Hospital and Trilium Health Centre, providing clinical expertise in all areas of plastic surgery.

The Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada

After completing his training in Toronto through rotating in the well known Toronto hospitals, Dr. Mrad passed the Royal College exam and became board Certified in Canada to practice plastic surgery.

The Royal College sets the highest standards for specialty medical education in Canada. At the same time, it supports lifelong learning for specialist physicians and promote sound health policy.

The College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario

Doctors in Ontario have been granted a degree of authority for self-regulation under provincial law. The College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario is the body that regulates the practice of medicine to protect and serve the public interest.

This system of self-regulation is based on the premise that the College must act first and foremost in the interest of the public. All doctors in Ontario must be members of the College in order to practise medicine.
Right after completing his training, Dr. Mrad passed all the requirements to be certified to operate in Ontario. He then joined Sunnybrook Hospital and served as a consultant with full privileges.

Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre

Being hired and working as a full staff member at Sunnybrook Hospital was a big achievement for Dr. Mrad. The experience he gained from working at this institute was unparalleled.
